About Sammons Says

Sammons Says presents Baylor Health Care System’s viewpoints on cancer prevention, cancer treatment and cancer research. Nothing is scarier than a cancer diagnosis, but we hope that our efforts to explain and explore cancer news and information will be a helpful resource for not only those who are battling cancer, but their caregivers as well. Through Sammons Says, we hope to remove some of the fear that surrounds cancer and replace it with education and inspiration. If there is a topic you would like to see covered or a story you wish to share, please feel free to contact us.

About the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center

The new Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas, which opened March, 26 2011, is making the road from cancer patient to cancer survivor smoother. As the largest outpatient cancer center in North Texas, the facility offers comprehensive diagnostic, treatment, support, education and research for cancer patients and their families.

The new 10-story, 467,000-square-foot facility is the largest outpatient cancer center in North Texas. Last year, more than 800 people participated in our research trials—and that number continues to grow. We offer more than 15 disease-specific support and education groups and programs, making it one of the most comprehensive programs in the country.

The new outpatient center offers:

  • a patient navigation program to guide patients and families through the cancer journey
  • advanced technology and integrative therapies for cancer treatment
  • expanded cancer research
  • treatments for every type of cancer
  • top-tier medical staff and health care providers, including educating tomorrow’s cancer specialists
