Integrative Medicine vs. Alternative Medicine

The words “integrative” and “alternative” are not interchangeable when it comes to medicine.

After talking with Dr. Carolyn Matthews, medical director of Integrative Medicine at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, I can tell you the difference but why don’t I let her.

Afterall, Dr. Matthews  has  completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, and has attended over 1,000 hours of training in integrative and functional medicine.
