Tanning Beds Linked to Increased Cases of Melanoma
A healthy tan is like a unicorn, cool idea but neither exist.
I’ll be the first to admit, if there was a pasture full of unicorns in Central Texas I’d drive down to see.
Likewise, if there was a completely safe way to bronze myself, I’d probably do that too.
I can promise your this, I’ll take a picture of a unicorn and post it on this blog before I lay my scantily clad body in a tanning bed. Mark it down!
Cases of melanoma are on the rise and researchers believe tanning beds can increase your risk of melanoma, maybe by as much as 75%. That’s clear enough for me.
I’ll take my UV rays when I have to, not in a super intense dose with only my Speedo to protect me.
Baylor-Plano dermatologist Dr. Paul Martinelli explains the risk in this video.
