When you get your own billboard, you know you’ve finally made it.
At least that’s how it is in the local TV news business. The station thinks so much of you they are willing to plaster a 12′x24′ photo of your mug on a billboard for every passerby to see. Quite an ego boost I would imagine. Ron Burgundy would love it.
Does a billboard drive ratings? Doubtful.
It does give commuters an opportunity to pick you apart on a daily basis: “That tie is a disaster.” “He calls that a haircut?” “Did he fall out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down?”
Now is probably a good time to disclose, I worked in TV News. I should also let you know, I never made it on a billboard. I’ve recovered. Mostly.
I say all of that to say this, Sammons Says has a billboard!
Our collective head is so big we can’t get it through the Cancer Center doors.
Next time you are
driving sitting at a stand still on eastbound 635 at Midway in Dallas, look up. Or you can just look at the picture at the top of this blog post. Either way, WE’VE MADE IT!
As much as I love you, our dedicated, faithful and good-looking reader, it’s time we take this awesome information to the masses. We are spreading the Sammons Says gospel, one DFW driver at a time. Oh, and we’re kind of proud of it too.
